What Is She Known For?
Groundbreaking stuff!

Her research has focused on global early childhood and how children construct their identities, espeically of children with Indian backgrounds. Dr. Viruru sees qualitative research from a poststructuralist and critical feminist theoretical perspective. She seeks to uncover the authentic "voices" of children. She is very much connected to Gaile Cannella's research and writings on deconstructing the rationale and theoretical base of the early childhood field.

She currently serves as an associate professor of early childhood education at Texas A&M University
